Choir and Ukulele

Glenbervie School Choir

Our school choir is open to the middle and senior syndicate. We have lots of fun learning both contemporary and traditional songs. Where possible, we love to participate in large events such as ‘Kids for Kids’. Whilst this has been postponed recently, we hope it will be up and running again very soon. Other events we have taken part in include carol singing around Whangarei. We have teamed up with the Maunu School choir and sung at the Christmas tree in the city centre, as well as entertaining the shoppers at Pak‘n’Save!

Ukulele

Our ukulele group is open to all middle and senior students. We meet during lunchtime in Terms 3 and 4. The school can provide ukuleles to practice on during school hours (they cannot be taken home.) If you would like your child to be part of this group please contact Mrs. Crooks for more information. We love to perform and in the past we have participated in the Kiwileles events held in Auckland. This is a massed children's ukulele orchestra of around 2500-3000 children. On a smaller scale, we often play at End of Term and End of Year assemblies. Playing as part of a group is lots of fun and extremely rewarding.
