If your child is going to be absent or late, or if there is going to be a change to their normal ‘getting home’ arrangements, please contact the school office as soon as possible via the Skool Loop App, email or phone.
Our School has three bus routes supporting students to and from school daily:

Three points of importance emerge when considering the bus services:
The bus driver is to be listened to at all times.

It is important that children are at school by 8.20am. This gives them time to talk to friends, make contact with their teacher and get organised for the day. For safety reasons, children are not to be dropped off at school until after 8.00am. It is expected that all children will be collected by 2.30pm in the afternoon. Please support your child/ren in getting to school on time.

Our carpark gets very busy at the beginning and end of the day. Please be mindful of pedestrians as you enter and leave our school. When dropping children off and/or picking up, please use the drive-through model AND when doing this, stay in your car and keep the flow moving.
If you are parking away from the ‘drop off’ zone, please walk your children into the school. Lastly, please close the school gate if you are coming and going from school during the school day. Our gates should be shut all day for safety reasons.
At Glenbervie School we offer a lunch order service on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
During the terms two and three, hotdogs are available to be purchased through the school. These are $3 each and all profits go to the P.T.A. Your child will need to bring their money to the classroom teacher on Wednesday morning.
On Thursdays and Fridays, lunch can be ordered via the Lunch Online app. This is an online platform, where you place your child's lunch order. Lunches can be ordered ahead of time with the cut-off time being 8am on the day of delivery. On Thursdays, café-style food from our local Mrs Kwackas is available to purchased. On Fridays, sushi can be purchased, both through Lunch Online.
At Glenbervie School, we are committed to promoting sun safety among our students. Our sun protection policy is designed to ensure all tamariki are safe while enjoying outdoor activities.
Key aspects of our SunSmart policy include:
Hats: During Terms 1 and 4, the wearing of hats is compulsory for all students when outdoors. If a student does not have a hat, they will be directed to play in shaded areas.
Sunscreen: Sunscreen is available in all classrooms for students' daily use. We kindly request that parents and caregivers apply sunscreen to their children before school.
Terms 2 and 3: While hats are encouraged during Terms 2 and 3, they are not compulsory for outdoor play during these terms.
These measures are in place to protect our students from the harmful effects of the sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation. We appreciate your cooperation in upholding these important health and safety guidelines.
Home learning is an extension of class instruction and provides opportunities for practise, reinforcement, developing independent skills, disposition for learning, enrichment activities and preparation for class learning.
Home learning may include projects to complete at home, that further support classroom learning.
New School Uniforms coming in 2026!
We're excited to announce that Glenbervie School will be introducing a new school uniform, compulsory for all students, starting in 2026.
The uniform will be available for purchase at the Sports Club Uniform Shop and will include:
Students will be expected to wear the full uniform daily. We believe this new uniform will foster a stronger sense of identity and pride within our school community. More details regarding sizing and purchase dates will be shared closer to the time.
Please ensure that your child’s property is clearly marked with their name. A lost property box is maintained outside of the school hall and items are displayed at regular intervals.
At the end of each term, unclaimed lost property is donated to charity. Smaller valuables, for example, glasses are held at the office.
Dangerous items and personal valuables, including toys or money, are not permitted at school and are best kept at home. The school cannot be responsible for loss or damage to any property brought to school.
